My grandpa Hummer emailed this to my mother and I quickly stole it from her :) Talmage and I have been giving "hi fives" ever since, especially over silly things. We just have too much fun!

Counting down

So it seems that I am counting down for several events... some I am looking forward to and some I am SOOO stressed out about!
6 days until I get to go to Utah and enjoy the fam for Thanksgiving, and only 4 of those days are school days (YAY!!) Talmage and I are really excited to come out and be with everyone and enjoy our time off together.
My other count down is for our school holiday program on December 11th.... Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will all be performing holiday songs as a large group (over 200 students). My 4th and 5th grade choir (about 20 kids) will be singing, as well as my middle school choir (nearly 50 kids), and the middle school band (almost 50 kids). So in 22 days, only 12 of those actual school days, we will have over 300 students on stage performing for their friends and family!!!
I know that was a lot of numbers, but the ones I want more of seem to be to few! So much to do in so little time.... Hopefully all will work out- for now I will count down for Thanksgiving and ignore the other number!!!

Our new red wall!!

This is our red wall we recently had painted. I have to admit I was
worried about choosing such a strong color, but Talmage and I love it!!!

These are some pics of the classroom that I teach in on a daily basis!!
I love this room merely due to the fact that it's mine and I got to decorate and set everything up the way I wanted to :) I teach both general elementary music, two middle school choirs, AND a 4th-5th grade choir in this room. The kids keep me busy and stressed, but I can't imagine doing anything else. The feeling you get when you hear your students walking down the hall singing a song that you taught them, or running up to you to show you they remembered our "secret" music sign language (really just solfege hand signs!!) just can't be beat. That is where you get validation as a teacher and it makes all the hard work more than worth it. Plus having such a cute room helps too!!

Our wedding day

First Entry EVER!!

So I am new to this whole "blogging" thing, but figured it could be fun to start one for the new family in the Williams clan.
I have to say that being married has been everything and more that I thought it would be. T and I are having so much fun experiencing each other and setting up our "daily rituals". We have so much fun with each other and are always being silly, which shouldn't surprise most of you :)
So to catch the everyone up....... T and I were married August 30, 2008 (best day EVER!!), we are living in south Denver where I am teaching music at a K-8 magnet school (34 languages and counting) while T is working early shifts at Target, he is quickly becoming a favorite at the workplace! :) We had an apartment wall painted red- so awesome, and are becoming HUGE fans of Dave Ramsey and his financial genius!
So all in all we are happy, healthy, in love, and enjoying every moment of it. I will do my best to keep this updated, but no promises are made!!!
Love you all!
